The biometric information system (BIS) was created to automate public relations related to the registration, issuance, exchange, re-registration, transfer, seizure, return to the state, invalidation, destruction of documents confirming the citizenship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, identity or its special status, and the use and dissemination of this information.

BIS is builtaccording to a modular, asynchronously developed scheme and implies supplementing it with departmental information systems designed to automate documenting and recording Egyptian citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons.

BIS todayallows you to issue an Egyptian passport for traveling abroad (e-Pass), an Egyptian identification document (e-ID), a driver’s license (e-DL), a birth certificate (e-BC), or a death certificate (e-DC), student, teacher, and student ID.
